I had the chance to work with Bas on the Four Crowns film for Riyadh Season, which we shot in brutal snow conditions on top of a mountain. It was the kind of project that could have easily fallen apart under the weight of logistics and weather, but Bas stayed calm, inventive, and fully committed. They weren’t just problem-solving in the moment — they were thinking ahead, setting up systems that allowed us to keep moving even when the environment was working against us.
